Lord Ganapathi, also described as Ganesha, is a very popular and revered Hindu deity and perphaps the most worshipped God in India. People mostly worship him seeking success in endeavors(siddhi) and intelligence. (buddhi). He also symbolizes wealth, wisdom, and happiness. He is worshipped before any venture or journey is embarked upon. Lord Ganapathi, having a curled trunk, one tusk partly broken, large ears, a massive body, four arms, and the radiance of hundreds of suns, elimintates all obstacles that impede success.

Ganesh puja

Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated for a whole 11 days. This festival ends on Anant Chaturdashi with Ganesh Visarjan. The devotees of the Lord Ganesha offer their prayers to God. They sing devotional songs for him and recited various mantras in his praise. They perform aartis in favour of the lord and seek his blessings on them.

Laddu auction

The laddu auction has been a tradition on the day of Ganesh immersion for over years now. Bidders who participate in the bidding of laddu auction feel it brings good luck, health and wealth.Ahead of the auction event, the Ganesh idol will be paraded on the streets of the colony.

Ganesh visarjan

The concluding day of the festival is also popularly known as Anant Chaturdashi. As the word 'visarjan' means immersion, on this day immersion of Lord Ganapati's idol takes place in a river, sea or water body.It is believed that Lord Ganesha returns to Mount Kailash to join his parents Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati on the last day of the festival.
